Pricing Estimator should clarify that it expects daily values
I want to propose an easy fix for what seems a serious problem regarding the pricing page's "Estimator", which perhaps has gone unnoticed for some time, and which could be scaring away prospects needlessly.
The problem is that it's not at all clear is if one should enter their estimated values (for requests and bandwidth) on a monthly or daily basis. Since the estimator is headed "Estimate your monthly charges", and the fields don't say otherwise, someone might reasonably also enter their values on a monthly basis. That will return much (much) higher prices than it should.
I did the math (which most folks really won't bother to do) and see now that the estimator is calculating based on entering DAILY values. But it doesn't SAY that. And most people these days are terrible at math, so they won't likely figure this out, and I'm sure many will be shocked by price they get and will just move on and not come back.
The problem could be easily fixed if you just changed the phrases in the form's field headings to add "(per day"), as in "Bandwidth in gigabytes (per day)" and "Number of file requests (per day)". It's not a trivial matter, though it's a trivial fix.
Sure, someone may say "folks can call to get a more accurate estimate", and that was the reply when I raised this suggestion in the chat support on the site. But that's missing the point entirely. Some folks will never bother: they will just go away. That's not in your interest.
Clearly, I'm just trying to help. I have no economic interest in this, other than sharing an objective perspective on something that perhaps has gone unnoticed for months or years.
Adding those two simple words may bring in more revenue from new clients in just days or weeks compared to the cost for you having to read/responded to this note, and make that simple change. I hope you please will, or let us know if you see things differently, or think I am mistaken.
